Two-year, $15,000 scholarship to study visual art
How to Apply
Applying for this application is a two-step process.
- Ask two current or former teachers to write letters of recommendation on your behalf and gather their email addresses. After your application has been submitted, we will request these letters from them using the email addresses you've submitted.
- Fill out our online form, which gathers personal information and asks five short essay questions.
- Send the committee
- 5 samples of art created by you
- JPEG format
- Less than 20 MB each
- Uploading instructions will follow your application submission

How to Fill Out the Online Application
The application form accepts only simple text, so do not enter html, rtf, or other coded or formatted styles.
There are five screens that require input on this application. Because you cannot save your progress until the end of the application, you should prepare your answers in advance of starting the application form. The form asks for the following information:
Personal Information
- Name
- e-mail address
- telephone number
- residential address, confirming you are a resident of WA state
- date of birth
- place of birth
- current citizenship
- gender
School Information
- high schools attended (with dates), confirming you are a student at a public high school in WA state
- cumulative GPA
- anticipated date of graduation
- colleges applied to, which confirms your intention to go to an accredited, four-year, nonprofit college or university
Experience and References
- paid or volunteer work history (with dates)
- a listing of extra-curricular activities
- essay question (100-word max.): tell us about two extracurricular activities and why they were important to you
- teacher references (with email addresses): Important: it is your responsibility as applicant to ask your teachers to prepare these two reference letters. We will then request these letters from them directly via email addresses you provide in the application.
Essay Questions (500-word maximum)
- How has art influenced your life?
- Describe a specific experience that helped you know that you want to go to art school.
- What career path do you envision for yourself after college?
- This application requires you to select and send five images of your artwork to the scholarship committee. Tell us what you would like us to notice about each piece of artwork you are submitting.
- Is there anything else you feel we should know about you in order to give your application our best consideration?
