Lots of Catching Up to Do

Let's see...I went on a wonderful vacation with Wendy after writing last. We were going to rent a boat, but they charter company sent us a "navigational skills test" that taught us how little we knew about boating. I thought we probably could have done it somehow, but it just wasn't that type of vacation we were after. We'll save challenge for a less stressed, less busy time. Instead, we took the car to the San Juan Islands without any plans. We kept a journal and took plenty of photos while we were there. I'll add the link here when I've got it typed and scanned into the computer.

We had a strange event happen with a furniture delivery. Wendy's parents sent out some of her grandfather's things to us, and the trucking company was supposed to tell us 24-hours in advance when they were going to get to our house. We found out Thursday night that they were already there, even though we were both in the city. Then, by the time we got home (11 p.m.), we found out that they couldn't get their rig down our dirt road, so we had to rent another truck in the morning to get their stuff to our house. It was pretty tense there for a while, but we managed to get it all taken care of. It's really nice to have the stuff in our house. We now have a whole viking-themed dining room set and a pie cupboard, among other pieces.

I then immediately took a trip down to L.A. for the E3 show. I spent a couple of days with Mike, Jenn, and Emily before the show, and saw some friends from Billboard in the evening during the show. E3 is an endurance event to be sure. Fighting crowds, trying to talk over loud music, and passing business cards around took up about 90% of the show--the rest was playing games!
