The Smell of Fir Trees

The weather has been incredible lately: warm (not hot), sunny, clear. The heat cooks a smell out of the fir trees and soft winds blow them around our house. Well, that is when the island doesn't smell like moist, rotting vegetation. The best thing of all: Dodgers are in first place in the NL West, Mariners are in first place in the AL West, and the Red Sox are still in contention for first in the AL East.
