Three Things to Remember From the East Coast

We're at Wendy's parent's house tonight. Tomorrow we will go on their boat. This weekend we were in Chicago with Marcy & Jeff and Bri & Tim for the wedding of Allison & Scott. It was a great time, and more deserves to be written about it, but there are three things I want to jot down before I go to bed:
  1. The trip was filled with several coincidental acquaintances, especially with Jeff. He went to college in Minnesotta with the groom's childhood friend. He grew up in the same Indiana town as one of the groom's Whidbey Island friends. And we just happened to be on the same flight as a college friend, who was in town from Boston for a different wedding--and she revealed herself to be the groom's prom date from a decade ago. She was also good friends with a former friend of Wendy's.
  2. Tim told me that he once lost a dog in a kennel fire when he was on Christmas vacation. The owner, a vet, had just remodled the place and there was a problem with the wiring. The kennel was full, and they lost every animal. I wonder if he lost his business, too...
  3. Bri was fighting an infection in her foot that was sending faint red lines up her leg. She said it happengd before and the doctors put her on an antibiotics IV drip. Jeff said the same thing once happened to him and his doctor said if it had reached his heart, he would have died. Now I must remember to be on the lookout for these lines.
