Snipers and Poisoned Tylenol

They're looking for a guy who's been called "The Maryland Sniper" by searching a house in Tacoma, WA. He's killed nine people so far and wounded three by setting up near a public place and shooting innocent, unrelated victims with a high-powered rifle.

Today, as I was breaking open the safety seal to a bag of tea in the kitchen of my office, I remembered that the whole reason why we have "safety seals" on foods is because of the Tylenol poisoning scare right around this time 20 years ago. Because someone wanted to hurt strangers, we've contributed tons and tons of plastic "tamper-proof" seals in our landfills. The Tylenol poisonings happened on September 29 and October 1, 1982; The sniper started shooting people on October 2, 2002. I wonder if anyone has considered that connection yet.
