Semi-Annual Review

I had my semi-annual review at work today. Basically, it's a process to review your accomplishments, strengths, and weaknesses with the management chain above you, and then set short-term and long-term goals. There weren't any big surprises in mine, and I left the meeting feeling pretty positive. Later it occurred to me that I must be a pretty good corporate drone--not too demanding, eager to please, supportive yet non-threatening to my managers, affable. Definitely middle of the road. Despite what we're told to be by the media and Madison Avenue--rebellious, agressive, in-your-face, EXTREME--I'm accepting who I am. Let someone else win the Academy Award; I'm fine being the guy from Price Waterhouse who seals the envelope
