Tips for Writing

  1. Write with your eyes closed.
  2. Narrow your focus. Don't think further than one word or one sentence.
  3. Burrow into your writing. Go back into your writing, find a good place, and expand upon what you had.
  4. Write quickly. Don't edit as you go; leave in even the typos. Editing comes after writing.
  5. Keep your tools in the tunnel. Write all the time, make time to write. Schedule it in your calendar, unplug your power, lock the door of your office.
  6. Failures lead to successes. You won't have the best day writing until you're willing to have the worst day writing.
  7. Write all different types of stuff, especially letters to friends and family members.
