Long Time Gone

My PDA-blogging system is on the fritz again. Suddenly it stopped connecting to my computer, and when I didn't do anything about it for several weeks (and stopped writing in it), the batteries eventually wore down and I lost everything since my last back-up (which wouldn't amount to much, let me tell you). The good news is that I've now got a wi-fi set up, so I'm writing from Wendy's Mac laptop in the garage.

Actually, things have been pretty great lately. The weather has been nice, and the days are getting awfully long. People are worrying about a drought since we haven't had much rain at all and the spring came so soon. I find myself getting more and more anxious about the state of the world. I'm comforted by a view of history that is on a pendulum. I am believing that the world is about to take a big, big swing for the better. It doesn't make sense to bet on a grim future or to bet against a miraculous future.

Now, for some mid-year resolutions:

• I'm going to make some bold bets.
  
• I'm going to get a little more political.
  
• I'm going to make some art.
  
• I'm going to make more time for enjoyment.
