The Century Project
I've decided that I want to live to be 100. That's right, 100-years-old, which will happen for me in 2069. The Century Project is my evolving, long-term plan for how I'm going to stay mentally productive and physically independent for the next 65 years.
William Saffire, a conservative columnist for the New York Times, just retired from most of his duties at the paper yesterday. In his farewell column, he talked about the importance of never retiring. He's going off to head a group called The Dana Foundation, a group that's devoted to the study of the brain, immunology, and (somewhat incongruous) arts education.
I want to keep an eye on this group and see what they're able to do over the next ten years or so.
