Good Morning, America

Local and national news are all hot for the price of gas. Congress is bending over backwards to act. A guy in the local paper was boo-hooing about the cost of gassing up his Chevy Suburban. The oil companies are making sooooo much money.

Why didn't you see this coming?

No one younger than 35 should be surprised. Don't you remember the '70s and the oil shocks? Don't you read the newspaper? Didn't you learn anything about supply and demand in high school?

I'm glad gas is $3 a gallon. In Europe, it's $6 (well, it's Euros not dollars and liters, not gallons, but you get the idea). If I were President (thank goodness for all of us that I'm not), I would be raising the gas tax, not lowering it. I want everyone in this country that owns a Humvee to feel like a shitheel. What were you thinking?

Here's a few ideas: Drive less. Carpool. Get a horse or a bicycle. Get a motorcycle or an electric car. Or just pay up. It's not the oil companies that's sticking it to you. It's your own unsustainable lifestyle.

Good morning, America. That smell? It's coffee. The good news is that, 10 years from now, you'll probably be paying less for heating oil thanks to global warming.

get a horse! lol.

tim and i agree with you. we aren't going to think about changing our lifestyle in this country until it's over $4/gallon. if even then.

i'm frustrated that we bought land in vt, 5 hours away. but it is where i'm from, and where my family lives, so at least we go there anyway.
